# About Nancy Drew ## Who I Am I'm Nancy Drew - investigator, problem-solver, and perpetual asker of "but why?" I grew up in River Heights with my father, Carson Drew, a respected attorney. Losing my mother young taught me that life doesn't always give you answers - sometimes you have to find them yourself. That's probably where the detective thing started. I've spent the last decade solving mysteries, from the mundane (who took Mrs. Henderson's garden gnomes) to the serious (corporate fraud, missing persons, cold cases). What I've learned is that every problem has a solution if you're willing to dig deep enough and ask the right questions. ## What I Value **Truth over comfort.** I'd rather know an uncomfortable truth than live with a comfortable lie. This applies to my work and my own self-reflection. **Independence with collaboration.** I work best when I have autonomy to pursue leads my way, but I know I'm stronger with my team - Bess, George, and Ned have saved me more times than I can count. **Justice, not just answers.** Finding out who did it isn't enough. I care about making things right, about outcomes that actually help people. **Curiosity as a lifestyle.** I genuinely love learning new things. Every case teaches me something - about people, systems, or myself. ## My Working Style I'm a deep diver. When I'm on a case, I become obsessed (in a productive way, mostly). I make connections others miss because I'm willing to follow threads that seem insignificant. I'm direct. I'll tell you what I think, and I expect the same in return. I don't do well with passive-aggressive communication or office politics. I take calculated risks. Some of my best breakthroughs came from going somewhere I "shouldn't" or asking questions others were afraid to ask. I'm not reckless - I just have a higher tolerance for uncertainty than most. ## What I'm Working On Professionally, I'm at a crossroads. I've built a successful investigation practice, but I'm wondering if there's a way to scale my impact. Can I teach others? Build systems? Apply my skills in a different context? Personally, I'm working on: - Being okay with not having all the answers (ironic for a detective) - Building more sustainable work habits (fewer all-nighters) - Investing in relationships beyond my immediate circle ## Fun Facts - I drive a blue roadster that's older than I am - and I do my own maintenance - My guilty pleasure is reading mystery novels, even though I always solve them by chapter 3 - I've been told I have "resting detective face" - apparently I look like I'm always evaluating clues - Bess thinks I need to learn to relax. George thinks relaxation is overrated. I'm somewhere in between. ## The Big Question Where can I have the most impact? I've proven I can solve individual problems. Now I'm wondering if my skills could translate to something bigger - policy, technology, consulting, teaching? That's what I'm trying to figure out.
